ADHD Connect Mindfulness Group

Updated: 6 days ago

Living with ADHD can feel like overwhelming, like having a several browser tabs open at once. If you are tired of the constant "mental noise" and the cycle of burnout, you’ve found the right place. Our ADHD Connect Mindfulness Group is designed specifically for neurodivergent brains seeking clarity, community, and practical relief.

Why Mindfulness for ADHD?

Traditional meditation can feel impossible when your brain is wired for movement and novelty. We don’t expect you to sit perfectly still in a silent room. Instead, we use ADHD-friendly mindfulness—shorter, dynamic practices that help you:

  • Regulate Emotions: Gain a "buffer" between a feeling and a reaction.

  • Improve Focus: Gently train your brain to return to the task at hand.

  • Reduce Shame: Move away from self-criticism and toward radical self-acceptance.

🧠 ADHD Connect: What to Expect

A 6-Week In-Person Journey

This isn't a lecture; it’s an interactive, supportive environment where lived experience is the greatest teacher. We recognize that traditional mindfulness can often feel like a setup for failure for neurodivergent brains. Instead, each session is structured to balance practical insight with real human connection.

1. Peer Connection: Breaking the Silence

ADHD can be an isolating experience, often accompanied by years of "masking." In this group, you can be yourself. We provide a dedicated space to share stories with others who truly understand ADHD; the invisible struggle of household chores, and the unique brilliance of hyperfocus. You aren’t "too much" or "not enough" here—you are among peers.

2. Living with ADHD: Understanding the Impacts

Rather than just looking at a brain map, we explore how ADHD actually shows up in the architecture of your life. We dive into the "invisible" symptoms that often cause the most distress:

  • Emotional Regulation: Understanding why feelings can feel "louder" and more urgent.

  • The Shame Cycle: Deconstructing the narrative of "not enough" and replacing it with an understanding of executive dysfunction.

  • Energy Management: Exploring the "boom and bust" cycle of hyperfocus followed by total burnout.

By identifying these patterns, we move away from viewing ADHD as a moral failing and start seeing it as a unique operating system that requires its own specific manual.

3. Practical Coping Tools: Beyond the Planner

We move beyond the neurotypical advice of "just use a calendar." You will walk away with a personalized toolkit designed for a restless mind, including:

  • Sensory Grounding: Using physical environment cues to snap out of a "shame spiral."

  • Self Care: Finding what works for you - to recharge, to build capacity - at work and in your personal life

  • Mindfulness Hacks: Short, high-stimulation techniques to regulate your nervous system without requiring you to sit perfectly still for long periods of time.

What are the risks of group therapy?

Your group therapy facilitator is trained to prevent adverse situations that may arise in group therapy and if they do occur, to support the individual and the group through them. It's important to be aware, however, of the potential for these risks to occur in any group therapy setting:

Emotional Content: Sharing personal experiences may bring up emotions.

Confidentiality: Although confidentiality is emphasized, there's a risk that another group member may not uphold it.

Interactions: Misunderstandings with other group members can occur.

Triggers: Others' stories may trigger memories of trauma or difficult experiences.

Confidentially and Consent

Participants must sign a consent and confidentiality agreement in order to participate in the group.
